The reality

A recent report states 10 people die every night on the streets of Delhi due to the cold. Across India, an estimated 4,000 people die from harsh winter exposure every year. Winter severity lasts around 60 days, and these 60 days are like life and death experience in which survival becomes extremely difficult. As you know I have experienced that, for being homeless many years.  
 
Who Is Affected?  
India has: 1.77 million homeless adults, 25 million street children, 3 million homeless women. These groups face danger far beyond the cold:  
• Children are at risk of abuse, trafficking, and forced begging.  
• Homeless women face exploitation, violence, and illegal exploitation.  
• The elderly and sick suffer from untreated illnesses, exposure, and lack of food.  
• Hypothermia & exposure: Sleeping on bare concrete in freezing temperatures leads to life-threatening heat loss.  
• Respiratory illness: Cold air worsens infections that can last months and weaken the immune system.  
• Malnutrition: With little or no access to food, the body cannot withstand harsh weather.  
 
 

Our Mission This Winter

Our goal is simple but urgent: to keep people alive during the coldest days of the year. This year, we will provide: A foldable mattress (to block the cold from the concrete floor) A warm blanket, One hot meal daily Hot tea to keep them warm Spiritual support – sharing God’s Word and praying with them. Cost Providing 1 foldable mattress + 1 blanket, can last this winter for sure even more. The costs €60 per person. The mattress is 4 inches thick, and 2 meters long. Enough for a person easily, and blanket good warm enough to protect them with cold. Food and tea are provided additionally. As per need, and supply. Your support can literally save a life.
